Sponsorships provide a personal connection that is immensely rewarding for the child. Our sponsorship program is structured so that it connects two individuals through correspondence and enables the development of a unique relationship between the child and sponsor. A child knowing that someone cares about them and is there to support them is gratifying.
On the reverse side of the coin, a child who does not have a sponsor may be hurt. We are aware of this potential and have developed a new "pen pal" program to address this.
We encourage sponsors to establish direct contact with children through emails, letters or even better -- personal visits. The personal connection is immensely rewarding for the sponsor.
You will learn about the child's culture, interests and goals and see the impact of your sponsorship as the child grows older. Simply put, knowing that you are helping a child can be very fulfilling.
At Hopeful Home we take pride in providing all of our children with the same high quality of care. We do not distinguish between a child who has been sponsored and those who do not have sponsors.
Funding is a challenge for non-profits and we -- as well as many others -- use sponsorships as a marketing tool. By human nature it is more compelling for an individual to sponsor a child than to simply donate to an organization.
We encourage you to find out more information about children who live at Hopeful Home. Brief bios on the children are available for you to determine who you would like to sponsor.
Full Sponsorship: An annual donation of $1,050 (or quarterly donations of $262 or donations of $87 per month) fully supports a child at Hopeful Home. The contribution covers the child's accommodations, education, food, healthcare, clothing and other essentials. (That's less than $3 per day -- not even the cost of a cup of coffee.)
Partial Sponsorship: An annual donation of $500 (or quarterly donations of $125 or $42 per month) supports almost half of the costs of providing for an individual child. Hopeful Home will use other funds raised through donations and grants to cover the full costs of the child's care.
We encourage sponsors to consider long-term commitments allowing sponsored children to complete their stay at Hopeful Home.
We administer sponsorships through our U.S. partner organization Ten Friends. This allows sponsorships to be tax-deductible since Ten Friends is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
Through Ten Friends you can set up payment options for annual, quarterly or monthly contributions. All of your contribution (minus a 3 % bank handling fee) is provided to Hopeful Home. We also offer the opportunity to make payments by wire transfers.
The personal connection can be immensely rewarding for both sponsors and the child. We encourage sponsors to establish direct contact with children through communications or even better -- personal visits. We have processes in place to make this easy.
Some sponsors do not choose to write letters to the child they sponsor but would rather just like to stay updated on a child’s development. We offer this as an option as well.
