The children at Hopeful Home come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We take pride in meeting their individual needs and providing them with an upbringing through which they can prosper as they grow older enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
Sunita, the daughter of Devi Bahadur Thapa and Dhan Kumari Thapa, entered the world in 2013 AD in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchoak district, the north east hills from Kathmandu Valley. She is from the impoverished family who depends on agriculture or work aboard. There was a massive earthquake in April 2015. It had destroyed many houses in the mountains. Sunita’s house was destroyed by the earthquake. She was living poorly with her parents. One of the neighbors of hopeful home orphanage brought her to the orphanage.
Despite her challenging background, she finds joy in dancing listening to Nepali music, and favoring the color pink.
Currently enrolled in grade 4 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, she is an average student who faced a difficult start in her education journey, making progress by the time. Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to overcome challenges and to build a brighter future for herself.

Paras Luhar, born in 2008 AD to Purna Luhar and Goma Luhar in Fukot-7, Kalikot, Karnali, the most remote mountain area of Nepal, coming from a disadvantaged, untouchable and marginalized family. His parents worked as farmers, and tragically, they lost their lives in a landslide 11 years ago. Fortunately, on that incident day, Paras and his elder brother, Jeewan Luhar, were away visiting their older sister, which saved their lives.
In 2014, Paras and his older brother Jeewan were placed under the care of Hopeful Home Orphanage by their uncle. Paras' older brother has completed high school and currently resides in Kathmandu with their uncle, pursuing college education.
Paras has a keen interest in soccer, enjoys listening to English music, and has an affinity for the color black. He is generally a serene individual who values tranquility. Currently enrolled in grade 8 at United Prepatory English Boarding School, Paras is an average student, with a particular liking for Social Studies.

Bhumashwori Chepang, the Daughter of Dipak Chepang and Hitmaya Chepang, entered the world in 2010 AD in Benighta Dhading, situated in the hills outside the Kathmandu Valley. Coming from the impoverished Chepang community, known as one of the poorest indigenous groups in Nepal, Bhuma's family has faced considerable challenges. The Chepang people, characterized by their semi-nomadic history, have struggled with the rugged terrain, making permanent farming challenging. The forest has remained a crucial source of sustenance for the Chepang. Unfortunately, factors such as forced teenage pregnancies and limited access to education beyond elementary school have contributed to their plight.
Tragedy struck Bhuma's family eight years ago when her father passed away by massive earthquake in 2015. With seven members in the family, including parents, three sisters, and two brothers, the situation worsened as her mother eloped with another man. Bhuma's stepfather treated her poorly, and her two elder sisters were married off in their teenage years.
Bhuma, along with her elder brother Roman, was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Benighat municipality officer, seeking a better life and opportunities for them. Since 2016 AD, she has been residing in the orphanage. Despite her challenging background, she exudes her generosity to all. She finds joy in singing, listening to Nepali pop songs, and favoring the color y green.

Kushma, the daughter of Bishakhar Neupane and Dharma Neupane, entered the world in 2010 AD in Kalikot, Karnali, the most remote mountainside of Nepal where the access of road is being build. People are living very poor, not aware of sanitation and hygiene. She is from the impoverished family who depend on agriculture. The basic facilities like schools, hospitals, shops are not available nearby their house. Her father passed away. Her mother is physically disabled and not fit for earning foods for her children.
Kushma was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Central Child Welfare Board which is authorized governmental body for children protection in Nepal.
Since 2021 AD, she has been residing in the orphanage. Despite her challenging background, she finds joy in playing kabaddi, the national game of India, listening to Nepali pop music, and favoring the color pink and blue.
Currently enrolled in grade 4 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, she faced a difficult start in her education journey, making progress slowly. Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for herself.

Santosh, along with his elder brother Ramkrishna, was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Rorang rural municipality officer, seeking a better life and opportunities for them. Since 2015 AD, they have been residing in the orphanage.
Despite his challenging background, his exudes positivity. He finds joy in drawing and arts, listening to Nepali music, and favoring the color blue. Known for his infectious smile, he looks forward to Deepawali and Christmas the festival of lights and flowers, where he receives personal gifts and gets a chance to celebrate Halloween.
Currently enrolled in grade 6 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, Roman faced a late start in his education journey, making progress slowly. Despite the difficulties, he likes science and math ,and he remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for himself.

Purnima, the daughter of Bijaya Shrestha and Kalpana Shrestha, entered the world in 2009 AD in Changunarayan Municipality of Bhaktapur near by the hopeful home location. She is from the impoverished family who depends on agriculture. Her parents disappeared, didn’t look after their children well. Purnima and her younger brother were living with their uncle. Their uncle had made an arrangement for them to go to public school but they were irregular in school. They used to go to Changunarayan temple to beg with tourists and pilgrimages. Changu Narayan is considered to be the oldest temple of Nepal. It remains a milestone in Nepali temple architecture with rich embossed works.
They were brought to the orphanage by child welfare officer of Changunarayan Municipality. Despite her challenging background, she finds joy in dancing and favoring the color white. Sometimes it is very difficult to handle her in the orphanage. She wants to go out and not to follow daily routine of a student.
Currently enrolled in grade 8 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, she is very weak student who faced a difficult start in her education journey. Hope she will make progress by the time. Despite the difficulties, she remains determined to overcome challenges and build a brighter future for herself.

Roman was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Gajuri municipality officer, seeking a better life and opportunities for him.

The Chepang people, characterized by their semi-nomadic history, have struggled with the rugged terrain, making permanent farming challenging. The forest has remained a crucial source of sustenance for the Chepang. Unfortunately, factors such as forced teenage pregnancies and limited access to education beyond elementary school have contributed to their plight.

Amrit, born in 2013 AD to Kumar BK and Ratna Kumari BK in Melung -1, Dolakha , near the Tibetan boarder , the remote mountain area of Nepal ,coming from a disadvantaged, untouchable and marginalized family. His parents worked as farmers, and tragically, Amrit’s father lost his lives with unknown diseases.
In 2022 Amrit was placed under the care of Hopeful Home Orphanage by his relatives. He was referred to the orphanage by child welfare officer of Changunaraya Municipality to whom the orphanage keeps strong relationship.
Amrit has a keen interest in football, enjoys joking with friends, and has an affinity for the color purple. He is generally a serene individual who values tranquility. Currently enrolled in grade 4 at United Prepatory English Boarding School, Amrit is a poor student, with a particular liking for Science.

Muskan, the son of Megha Raj Chhatyal and Dipa Chhatyal, entered the world in 2015 AD in Simkot Rural Municipality, Humala, Karnali, the most remote mountainside of Nepal where the access of road didn’t build yet. People are living very poor, depends with Tibet for they daily supplies. He is from the impoverished community, known as one of the poorest indigenous groups in Nepal, his family has faced many challenges. The basic facilities like schools, hospitals, markets are not available there.
Tragedy struck Muskan's family 3 years ago when his mother passed in the lack of procedure of hospital while giving birth to a new baby. He was living with his father, the situation worsened as his father got another marriage. Muskan's stepmother treated him poorly.
Muskan was referred to Hopeful Home Orphanage by the Child welfare officer of Changunarayan municipality, seeking a better life and opportunities for them.
Since 2022 AD, he has been residing in the orphanage. Despite his challenging background, he finds joy in playing badminton, listening to Nepali music, and favoring the color blue. He likes momo very much.
Currently enrolled in grade 3 at United Preparatory English Boarding School, he faced a difficult start in his education journey, making progress slowly. Despite the difficulties, he remains determined to overcome challenges and to build a brighter future for himself.

People are living very poor, depends with Tibet for they daily supplies. He is from the impoverished community, known as one of the poorest indigenous groups in Nepal, his family has faced many challenges. The basic facilities like schools, hospitals, shops are not available there. His parents are physically disabled and used to beg for food. They were living in poor conditions.
